First Lyrical Class
Hey guys, I just got back from my first lyrical class! It was very difficult because it was very fast paced. We started with a warm-up where we just followed the teacher, and then moved on to some across the floor things, like chaines, and pique turns. There was a lot of stuff I never did before, so I felt a little lost. Then the teacher came up with some choreography for "Bleeding Love", we got to the chorus. The actual dancing to Bleeding Love we did wasn't exactly difficult, but we learned it very quickly so I couldn't really keep up too well. Overall, it was still very fun, even though I may have a few bruises in the morning! There were only 3 other girls there, and two were from my teen ballet class.

Sounds fun! I'm thinking of signing up for lyrical, but I'm not sure.

DeleteCool! I love lyrical! It's bit difficult at first. I'm currently learning a lyrical trio and at first we messed up a lot!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! My friend and I may try a lyrical duo this year. She hasn't ever danced, and it's my first year of lyrical, so it may be a train wreck. At least it'll be fun!
DeleteI'm about to do lyrical too! Is it a lot similar to ballet?
ReplyDeleteHey! Lyrical has a lot of ballet technique involved, but it also includes some jazz. I think the hardest thing for me was dancing with emotion, because I tend to get very tense and it sort of looks robotic.
DeleteIt was definitely a lot of fun, especially since we danced to more modern music, and everything didn't have to be perfect. Good luck, I'm sure it'll be a blast!
